Sustainable development is central to Pakistan’s long-term resilience, environmental security, and social well-being. As the country faces the intersecting challenges of climate change, resource constraints, and social inequality, there is a growing need for credible evidence, skilled human capital, and coordinated, solution-oriented action.
The Centre for Environment and Social Sustainability (CESS), established with the support of the World Bank, serves as a platform where evidence informs action and collaboration drives impact. Our vision is to support Pakistan’s transition toward sustainable and inclusive development by integrating environmental responsibility with social equity across policy, practice, and investment decisions.
CESS operates as an applied hub for capacity development, policy engagement, and practical solutions. Through professional training and certifications, evidence-based research and advisory services, multi-sectoral collaboration, and real-world implementation support, we work to translate knowledge into measurable outcomes.
We position ourselves as a convener and catalyst—bringing together government, academia, industry, development partners, and civil society to advance shared sustainability goals.
I invite you to explore our work and engage with CESS as we collectively contribute to building a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable Pakistan.
